Kim Lee Erickson
1950-2020
With deepest sorrow, we announce that Kim Lee Erickson, a beloved husband of 39 years, devoted father, loving grandfather, family member, and friend, entered into eternal life on March 23, 2020 following complications from a brain aneurysm.
Kim was born in Galveston, TX on August 8, 1950 to Alton O. Erickson and Dorothy L. Bulacher. His family moved to Houston shortly after. He graduated from Westbury High School and studied Hotel & Restaurant Management and Psychology at The University of Houston. From there, he spent many years in restaurant supply & equipment sales and restaurant management.
Kim was devoted to his family and their wellbeing. He loved his children, Kristen and Kelly, beyond measure. He always made sure everyone was taken care of- physically, mentally and spiritually. Kim was rarely seen without a smile on his face and always had an animated way of telling a lighthearted story; some of them being irrelevant. He had a quirky personality and could instantly light up a room with a silly joke.
Kim was very personable and easy-going. He gave so much and asked for so little in return. Kim lived his life doing the things he loved to do most. He and his buddies would take trips to the Indi 500, play many rounds of golf, attend baseball games, go on annual fishing trips, as well as exotic hunting excursions. Kim was a huge sports fan and spent many years going to see the Rockets and tailgating at the Texans games. His favorite thing to do on the weekends was watch "Lucky Dog" and concert specials of the bands he loved.
Kim was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Nancy Young; many aunts and uncles; as well as great friends. He leaves behind his wife, Sandra; daughter, Kristen Erickson, fiancé Kevin Liberto; daughter, Kelly (Erickson) Lara, husband Kevin, grandson Lucas; sister, JoAnn Erickson; nephew, Jason Rumfola, wife Glenda, children Preston and Kylie; nephew, Joe (Buddy) Rumfola, wife Tami, children Chrina and Cara; niece, Jennifer Gregory, husband Kent, children Garrett, Noah, and Emma; sister-in-law, Melinda Young, child Sabine Langeland. Last, but not least, Kim's loyal German Shepherd, Gretta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, luckydoganimalrescue.org, or a charity of your choice. Friends and family will be invited to remember Kim and to celebrate his life at a later date due to COVID-19. Information regarding this will be announced at a later date.
