Lawrence Earl (Leo) Oliver, Jr., 58, passed peacefully on January 16, 2021, at Houston Memorial West under Hospice in Katy, Texas. Leo was born in Houston, Texas, on January 27, 1962. His parents were Lawrence Earl Oliver and Nelle Tatum Oliver. Both parents have passed. Leo leaves behind two stepchildren, Emily Ann Nogosek of Bend, Oregon, and Alexander William Sweet Wilmington, North Carolina; a sister, Katherine Oliver Brittain; nephew Benjamin Franklin Brittain IV; niece Julieanne Nelle Brittain; great-niece, Madison Kay Brittain; great nephew, Benjamin Franklin Brittain V; and six cousins. He was also brother-by-another-mother to Richard and Kelly Schacherl of Flatonia, Texas.
Leo graduated high school in Midland, Texas, and went on to play the trumpet in the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. He later received his degree in business from The University of Texas El Paso. For the last eighteen years, he had been employed as an IT for Hopewell Strategic Planning in Clear Lake, Texas.
Leo volunteered as an Usher at New Hope Church where it as is said he never met a stranger who didn't soon became a friend. He embraced Flatonia as his second home and enjoyed friendships there as well as the celebrations Czhilispil and Shindig.
Funeral services will be held January 23, 2021, at New Hope Church in Webster, Texas.
