Leondias Aaron Smith "Lonnie", 53, of The Woodlands, Texas passed away from this life on October 5, 2021.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 29 years, Kimberly Smith of The Woodlands, TX; son Jacob Smith of The Woodlands, TX; his sister Bonnie Smith of Ocala, FL; his half-brother Ricky McPherson and his wife "Patsy" of Virginia Beach, VA; his half-brother Steven McPherson and his wife Debbie of Bluefield, WV; his nieces, Brittany Mancil of Belleview, FL; MeKenna Levert of Nederland, TX; Angel Niedenthal of Port Neches, TX and his nephew, Anthony Niedenthal of Port Neches, TX, as well as other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Aaron Smith and Patsy Ann Avery; half-brothers, Randall McPherson and Randy McPherson.

Lonnie was a strong man of his faith and was very proud of his military service. Outside of his military career, he owned and operated three businesses. These businesses include a gym, furniture/home goods store, as well as a welding and safety school where he taught weekend classes about refinery safety. His passions included coin collecting, riding his motorcycle on weekends, as well as attending many of the area's local gun shows. Lonnie was a devout Baptist who attended and helped teach youth ministries at Circle Drive Baptist church in Bridge City, Texas. He was also involved in the community having been a member of the Bridge City Rotary Club. Lonnie was loved by many of his colleagues, friends, and family.
