Obituary

Lori Jacobs, age 53, of Houston, Texas left this world peacefully on Friday, February 11, 2022.

Lori was born in Dayton, Ohio where she grew up the old-fashioned way – playing outside with the neighborhood kids on Pleasant View Avenue until it was time to come inside for dinner. She attended U.S. Grant Elementary School, where she made a career of chasing boys on the playground. For a brief time, she attended Temple Christian School where, among other legendary incidents, she taught the principal's son how to play gin rummy while the two hid under a desk during recess.

She attended Belmont High School, and she was never short on companions. Her circle of friends hung out regularly in the basement of the house on Pleasant View, listening to great music and figuring out life's big questions. Lori was the ultimate Rolling Stones fan, and knew the words to all their songs. She literally had the moves like Jager: she could imitate all his dance antics, and had his facial expressions down to a T.

Her wit was quick and her humor was sharp, and she certainly could have had a career as a comedy writer.  She was bold and brave and wasn't afraid to stand up for herself or for others.

Anyone who knew Lori also knew that she loved to cook, especially at the holidays. She served huge meals fit for a king on Mamaw's good china. She enjoyed crafting and created wonderful gifts and delectable treats for the people she loved.

She was the heart and soul of her family, raising three boys of her own, and taking in a few kids who needed her along the way. Little league baseball was a way of life. Despite the mounting challenges of lupus and diabetes, she always showed up and cheered for her boys at their games.

Lori is survived by her children, Tommy Jacobs and wife Shelby Jacobs; Tony McReynolds; and Tim McReynolds and partner Alexis Zarate. She is also survived by her former spouse, Mark McReynolds; her sister, Lisa Marie Jacobs; beloved friends Mike and Nicole Koval; grandchildren Allyson, Aubrey, Brandon, and Glory Grace Koval, Shelby Vargas and great grandson Lucas Vargas; and nieces Emma and Rosemica Van Dyck. And Mick Jager.

A celebration of life will be held this spring in Dayton, Ohio.
