IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Sue
Glass
July 16, 1924 – December 24, 2019
Margaret Sue Bennett, best known as Molly, was a beautiful and courageous woman who loved the Lord, her family and everyone else. Because she had fallen several times recently and was hospitalized more than once, when leaving the hospital she had to take time to hug all her new friends.
Molly was born July 16, 1924 in DeRidder, LA to Robert Allen Bennett, Sr and Irma Nolen, the 3rd of 5 children. They lived in the country, had chickens, cows for milk and meat, a garden for vegetables and lots of room to run and play.
Early one Sunday morning on January 25, 1942 Molly married William Prentiss Glass (Bill) and not long afterwards he enlisted in the Navy serving during WWII. After serving they made their home in DeRidder where they raised their three children until 1964 when they moved to Pasadena, TX. Bill and Molly then started a vacuum cleaner and sewing machine business. They not only took pride in their business they were also able to help many young folks who were putting themselves through Bible college. Some of these folks remained friends for a lifetime. Bill passed away in 2004.
Bill and Molly's oldest son and daughter-in-law, Robbie and Jeannene Glass, died in a private plane crash while returning to Pasadena from visiting relatives in DeRidder in 1976. Rob and Jeannene were gone from their lives but never from their hearts and minds. Their names came up often in conversation around the dinner table.
Going to church was a huge part of Bill and Molly's lives. They were both active members and were in service most every time the doors were open. The last couple of years because of health issues Molly was not able to attend church as much as she would like. However, she was so happy to be able to watch the service on that cute little thing she could just hold in her hands.
Molly loved to GO! Anytime, anyway and anywhere. All the time. Some of her grands lovingly called her the little old lady from Pasadena. She was not happy when her kids took her car keys away when she was ONLY 90 years old.
If you ever greeted Molly and asked how she was doing she would immediately do a fist bump in the air and say "GREAT". Consistent, loving and kind plus she gave great hugs. That was Molly.
