Obituary

Marian Lee Priscilla (Larson) George was born in Holdrege, Nebraska on August 6, 1946. She passed away on the evening of December 27th, 2019 in her home in north Houston, Texas.
Her parents, Ivan and Hazel Larson, ran the Christian Homes Children's Home in Holdrege at the time of her birth. Her family included her brother, Lu Verne Larson and sisters Carolyn Johnston and Janet Walentine. With her father being in the ministry, the family lived in many locations throughout the mid-west during her formative years. Marian attended and graduated from College High School (now University High School) in Greeley, Colorado and also attended Colorado State College (now University of Northern Colorado) for one year before beginning work for the State Farm Insurance company location in Greeley and getting married. After a couple of years, she left State Farm and welcomed her first daughter, and remained a stay-at-home mother the rest of her life.
Marian married her high school sweetheart, Thomas H. George of Greeley, on August 19th, 1966 and they were married until her passing (53 1/2 years). They had four daughters, Rebecca Marie (Michael) Clark, Kathleen Priscilla (Brian) Wright, Gretchen Anne George, and Kristina Susanne (Matthew) Becker who all currently reside in the Houston, Texas area. Additionally, they have eighteen grandchildren, currently three grandchildren-in-laws, and currently two great-grandchildren (with two more on the way). She was blessed with a large, loving, and active family. Marian was preceded in death by both parents, her brother and sister-in-law (Lu Verne and June Larson), and her sister and brother-in-law (Carolyn and Robert Johnston). She is survived by her husband, her daughters, her sons-in-law, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and her sister and brother-in-law (Janet and Robert Walentine).
Marian was a strong believer in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and encouraged all her children and grandchildren to become believers also. She was an active participant in her local churches over the years, and led many young girl's ministries as well as acting as the Chairwoman of the North Houston Christian Women's Club for several years. She had many close friends and associates in the various organizations and enjoyed several long term friendships. Her later years involved participation in various Bible study groups. Lately, the majority of her activities have focused on various family gatherings and celebrations.
Marian will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and confidant.
