Our precious mother, Martha Ryals Baack, went peacefully to her Heavenly home on February
22, 2023 at the age of 81. Martha was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, aunt, grandmother, and
great grandmother, but most importantly a mother.
Martha was born to Otis W. Ryals and Valeria Nadine Kane Ryals in Lake Village, Arkansas on
November 16, 1941. Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Otis W. Ryals and Valeria Kane
Ryals, husband Herman Baack Jr., son Timothy Baack, sisters Mary Ryals Long and Barbara Ryals
Lambright and brother Lonnie Ryals.
Martha married the love of her life, Herman Baack Jr. on March 25, 1958 and raised four boys,
Michael Baack, Martin Baack, Timothy Baack and Christopher Baack.
Martha's greatest accomplishment in her life was raising her children and watching her
grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. Martha had quite the green thumb and loved to
work in her yard planting flowers, trees, fruit and vegetables.
Those left to cherish her memories are her sons, Michael (DeeAnna) Baack of Houston, Texas,
Martin (Brenda) Baack of Marthaville, Louisiana, Christopher (Mary) Baack of Splendora, Texas,
brothers Don Ryals of Houston, Texas and Paul Ryals of Cleveland, Texas, grandson, Jeffrey
Baack of Splendora, Texas, granddaughters Lisa Schwartz (Thomas) of Tomball, Texas, Michelle
Schober (Joe) of Houston, Texas, Allissah Faith Baack of Marthaville, Louisiana, great
grandchildren Kaydance Baack and Connor Baack of Splendora, Texas along with a host of
nieces, nephews and friends.
Martha will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
