Obituary

Mary Ann, 83, was born in Fayette County, Lagrange, Texas on August 7th, 1942. Mary Simpson, who loved living in LaGrange, Texas, passed away comfortably and peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of acceptance, love, and compassion. Born and raised in La Grange, Mary grew up with no shortage of people around her including 6 brothers and 1 sister living on cherry street. She would later move to Tomball, Texas with the same family and attended Tomball highschool in 1958. Following highschool she met Dub Holiday who she would end up getting married to in 1962 then moving to Houston, Texas at the same time. Five years later, Mary would end up giving birth to her daughter Cassandra Renee Holiday. Cassandra would then go on to have two sons, Talik Dickens and Nyko Holiday. Nyko would then grow up to have Leilani Grace Holiday, giving Mary 2
Grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Mary grew up with an extensive family around her including 1 sister and 6 brothers who are all deceased besides her sister
Ruby Fehrle. Her 6 brothers included John Jr., Jerry, Eddie, Leslie, James, and Franklin Hentschel accompanied with her half brother Earnest Stritz.
She was preceded by a multitude of Nieces, Nephews, friends, and cousins who were always around her including her 2nd husband, Leonard, who is deceased and two other friends, Sonya Garcia and Telena Gilmore. Mary dedicated her life to working in customer service including working at Joske's supermarket in the shipping/ receiving department for 20+ years. Before working at Joske's, she would go to work at Klein's Grocery store as a retail worker for close to 10 years. Mary made it her goal to make everyone around her feel welcomed and included no matter who you are.

Mary had a love for family, friends, cooking, fishing, embroidery, westerns, and puzzle books, but above all else you could not take her away from her sweets. In addition she loved to attend church as often as she could. Every Sunday she would try going tk her cowboy church with her pastor, Ron Polk, in Belleville, Texas.
