Melvin E. Bartholomew, Jr. passed away peacefully November 10, 2020 with his two daughters by his side in Houston, TX. He was born on June 29, 1947 in New Orleans, LA to Melvin E. Bartholomew, Sr. and Joyce E. Sterling. He was baptized on July 20, 1947. At the age of 13, he and his mother moved to Chicago, IL. There, he attended Hirsch High School where he met and eventually married Juanita A. Foreman. To their union they added 4 wonderful children.

He was an awesome cook. He enjoyed watching football and basketball while spending time and sharing laughs with family and friends.

He is survived by Juanita, his wife of 55 years; son, Anthony S. Bartholomew; daughter, Joyce A. Mercer, husband Bernard; daughter, Audrey E. Bartholomew; and son, Andre E. Bartholomew, wife Jauri; sister-in-law, April G. Tate; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who all affectionately referred to him as "Paw-Paw".

Melvin was preceded in death by both parents.
