Obituary

Naomi M. Richmond departed this world and entered the kingdom of Heaven on September 8, 2020 at the age of 94.  She departed strong in her faith and in the grace of God.  We will be celebrating her life with a private gathering.

Naomi was born on January 16, 1926 in Coleman, Texas to parents Verta Von and Zelpha L. Ward. She married Paul S. Richmond on March 14, 1943 and they enjoyed a wonderful and special marriage of 64 years before Paul entered the Kingdom of Heaven in 2007.  She was also preceded in death by their eldest son, Paul L. Richmond.  She is survived by their son Ronald L. Richmond and daughter Pamela Y. Bruce and 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Naomi spent her life serving others and serving the Lord, and she was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and Nanny.  She was a light for Jesus in this world, and all that knew her could sense the love and grace of God that she carried with her always.  She left a wonderful spiritual legacy and a legacy of fervent prayer and was certainly welcomed into Heaven with those blessed words, "Well done my good and faithful servant."  Some of her most often quoted scriptures were… "Be strong in the Lord, and the power of His might" (Ephesians 6:10), "For in Him we live, and move, and have our being" (Acts 17:28), "For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, of love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7), and "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" (2 Cor 10:5).

The family gratefully declines flowers or donations but gladly welcomes prayers, condolences, and memories.  The family would like to extend gratitude to all the staff at The Woodlands Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers for all their love, dedication, and service to Naomi in the last year of her life. They certainly became her family as well during this difficult time and inherited her wonderful spiritual legacy.
