Noemi Lawrence, age 75, passed away peacefully at her home in Houston, Texas, on July 13, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 20, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, to Manuel and Carmen Solis.

Noemi dedicated her life to loving and serving her family, the Church, and her students. Her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith touched countless lives.

After attending Edgewood High School in San Antonio, Noemi earned a bachelor’s degree in education from St. Mary’s University. She went on to serve for 42 years as a bilingual educator in several Texas school districts, including Edgewood ISD, McAllen ISD, Aldine ISD, Tomball ISD, and Klein ISD.

Noemi had a deep passion for bilingual education and a remarkable ability to connect with her students. She encouraged them to believe in themselves, work hard, and reach their full potential. The impact she made in the classroom continued long after her students left it.

Her faith in God was the foundation of her life. Noemi’s life was a beautiful reflection of the love of Christ, and her faith could be seen in the way she cared for and served others. In her later years, she was a devoted member of Houston Northwest Church. She had previously attended Church of God 7th Day in San Antonio and Conroe. Wherever she worshiped and served, Noemi demonstrated a servant’s heart and a sincere desire to live according to her faith.

Noemi’s greatest earthly joy was her family. She was a loving wife to Larry Glen Lawrence and a cherished mother to Rose Marie Rodriguez and her husband, Jason; Nicholas Jonathan Lawrence and his wife, Sarah; Aaron Michael Lawrence and his wife, Ramona; and the late Thomas Lawrence.

She was a proud grandmother to 17 grandchildren and a loving great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she loved creating adventures and lasting memories with them. She was a proud Tia to many nieces and nephews and a good friend to many.

Noemi is also survived by her sisters, Clara Riojas, Mary Mireles, Martha Silva, and Rita Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Lawrence; her parents, Manuel and Carmen Solis; and several of her siblings.

Noemi enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with the people she loved. Her legacy of love, wisdom, faithful service, and devotion to Christ will continue through her family and the many lives she influenced.

A service celebrating Noemi’s life will be held at Houston Northwest Church, located at 19911 State Highway 249, Houston, Texas 77070.

Noemi’s gentle presence, faithful example, and steadfast love will be remembered for generations to come.
