Norma Dell Duke Konon was born in Dallas Tx on Aug. 31, 1934.  She was the oldest in a family of 5 kids.  She graduated from Galena Park High school and attended two years of college before joining the Women's Army Corps (WACs) in 1956.  She served in Germany during the cold war where she met her husband, Michael Konon.  There were married in Switzerland in 1958.  She left the army in 1959 to return to the US to give birth to their first daughter.

She worked many years as an office manager, including the financial aid office of US International University and Easy Aire air conditioning company.  All while raising two kids.  She was a strong woman before women were supposed to be strong.  Ahead of her time.

After a long fight with COPD she died peacefully in her sleep at a nursing home. She is survived by her sister, Faye Miller, her children Melba and Robert Konon, four grandchildren Charles, Anthony, Melony and Richard, and 5 great grandchildren.  We will forever remember her strength and love an miss her dearly.
