IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paul
Uhrick
October 23, 1947 – January 5, 2023
Paul Reinhardt Uhrick, born October 23, 1947 to William and Florence Uhrick, departed from his
earthly body on Thursday, January 5 to join his Heavenly Father. Paul was a proud United
States Air Force Veteran, University of Houston alumnus, husband, father, brother, and so
much more. He fondly shared his Air Force experience and would always shake the hand and
thank another veteran. He finished his education at the University of Houston after he was
discharged from the Air Force. While at UH, he met his true love, and bride, Carolyn Uhrick.
Paul and Carolyn later married and celebrated 48 years of marriage this past June. He and
Carolyn had a common love of University of Houston. They attended basketball games, football
games, and other school events. In 1991, seventeen years later, Paul became a father. He
passed his love of the University of Houston, sports, and family to his daughter.
Paul never met a person he called an enemy, and he had an astounding sense of humor. You
simply couldn't be in a bad mood with Paul around. He loved his job. He worked in the
insurance industry and worked with many wonderful individuals. He loved his coworkers and
spoke of them often. He had several close friends. When someone became a friend with Paul,
they were a friend for life. He treasured those relationships. Paul lived by family, love, and faith.
He had incredibly strong faith, and in the end, it was his family, love, and faith that helped him
through his final challenges.
Paul is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn Uhrick; daughter, Jan Uhrick; sister, Pat
Kilpatrick; sister-in-law, Diane Matthews; sister-in-law, Bette Willis; and numerous nieces and
nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Florence Uhrick; brother, Fred
Willis; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and David Buchanan, and numerous aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Valenti School of
Communication at the University of Houston. A celebration of life will be held at a restaurant at a
later date that will be announced soon.
