Obituary

Perry Glen Hensel, passed away to be with the Lord on Nov 11, 2020 at his residence in Rye, Tx at the age of 70 with his wife by his side.
He was born on August 25,1950 in Galena Park, Tx to Henry Charles Hensel and Grace Marie (Volino) Hensel.  He is proceeded in death by his mother Grace Marie (Volino) Hensel of Galena Park, Tx, father Henry Charles Hensel of La Marque, Tx, uncle Perry Dominic Volino of La Marque, Tx, brother Vernon Lloyd Hensel of La Marque, Tx, son Tommy Hensel of Mexia, Tx, grandparents Vernon and Lessie Plemons of La Marque, Tx, Lloyd and Lena Scruggs of Galena Park, Tx.
Perry started his career working in the Petrochem Refinery Industry.  His first job he hired out with was Brown & Root on his 18th birthday working in iron.  He went on to Rigging and become one of the best riggers in his craft.   He has worked all over the United States building refineries.  He has worked with companies such as Riggers & Constructors, JV Industrial, Motiva Enterprises and Bechtel/Jacobs JV and so many more.  He loved the career he had chose and learned from the best.  His experience in the Industry went on to make him a mentor to many, many co-workers.  He eventually retired as a rigger at the age of 62 in 2012.  He also loved old cars, motorcycle riding and working around his home.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Shelly (Cox) Hensel and step son Arron Johnson and wife Anne Marie of Batchtown, IL, brother Gary Wayne Hensel and wife Felisia Hensel, of Dayton, Tx, sister Julie Marie Rector, Houston, Tx, nephew Vernon LLoyd Hensel Jr. of Harris Co., John Wade of Louisiana, Austin Daniel Stringfellow of Houston, Tx, niece Julie Marie Stringfellow of Houston Tx, brother and sister in laws, Desiree Fester of Pleasant Hill Il, Donald Cox of Tovy, Il, Robert and Bambi Moser of Jerseyville, Il, Tom and Jodi Scheldt  of Alton, Il and numerous other. grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
There will be no funeral or memorial services.  Perry wished to be remembered as you all knew him.  Graceful Memorial Chapel will be handling the online services for condolences, flowers and donations. Donations mail be mailed to:
