Obituary

Pete Lee, Jr.

January 18, 1932 – May 9, 2021

On Mother's Day weekend, Pete Lee, Jr., 89, a Veteran and affectionately known as "PoPo' peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family, devoted friends and caregivers.  He is survived by his wife of 67 years of marriage-Connie Lee, daughter-Sylvia Barnes, her husband-Gene Barnes, granddaughter-Brittany Barnes, his only sister-Gloria Lee, beloved nephews, nieces and their children.

His parents, Pedro Lee, Sr. and Mary P. Lee, and his two brothers, Adolph Lee and Willie Lee have been patiently waiting in Heaven for Pete.  He used to dream about his parents asking him to come join them.

Pete Lee led a full and happy life.  He was a Sergeant in the Army of the United States and was honorably discharged in March 1954. Within a few months of returning back home to Tivoli, Texas, he met and married Connie Minjares.  They started their married life in Tivoli, TX where they started a family and had, Sylvia, their only child.  Pete worked alongside his father, Pedro Lee, Sr. running several businesses. When Pete became interested in working in the oil field industry, he eventually moved the family to Houston, TX where he became a plant manager for many years until he retired.

Besides spending time with his family, Pete had a passion for fishing to his heart's content with various family members, such as, his brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces and friends.  He had so many fishing stories to share over the years that he could have written a book.  Pete also enjoyed playing poker games with his fishing buddies.  The poker games could get a little loud but it was all in good fun. Around mid-life Pete became a coach for a women's softball team and travelled quite a bit to play in tournaments.  Between family time, working, fishing, playing poker and coaching a softball team, Pete was a very active and happy go lucky man with a heart of gold and love.

Pete loved God and believed in doing the right thing in life.  He was loved by everyone and will be truly missed so very, very much! His final wish to be reunited in Heaven with his parents has come true. May you rest in peace and be happy dear PoPo.

Revelation 21:4 "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."

John 14:1-3 "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
