IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Priscilla Doran
Brejcha
February 4, 1941 – July 6, 2020
Priscilla Doran Brejcha, age 79, passed away July 6, 2020 in Kemah, TX. She was born February 4, 1941 in Bronxville, NY to Priscilla Doran Payne and Dr. William Doran. A deeply spiritual woman and devoted Christian, she loved the Lord and all of God's people with boundless generosity and kindness. She was the loving mother of four children, Holly Dowling of Phoenix, AZ, Heidi Burnett of Laguna, CA, Jeff Dastmalchian of Houston, TX and David Dastmalchian of Los Angeles, CA and their families. She found true love and friendship in Thomas Brejcha and they wed in 1994 in Kansas. The couple loved to travel, spend time with family, playing Scrabble and sharing the joy of their faith with all who were fortunate enough to meet them. Through her marriage to Tom, she became a loving stepmother to Charlie Brejcha of Pasadena, CA and Abby Rieb of Melbourne, FL and their respective families. She adored being a grandmother to her thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Priscilla is survived by her sister, JoAnna Bradshaw and her brother, Peter Doran, as well as countless loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Everyone who knew or met Priscilla was moved by the light and love that she carried with her and the warmth she shared unconditionally.
Though raised mostly in Massachusetts, she headed to the West Coast where she studied philosophy and received her undergraduate degree from San Francisco State. After stints in Colorado, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Michigan, she settled in Overland Park, Kansas, where she raised her family. She had a passion for education and earned her Masters Degree from Kansas State University and her PhD in counseling from Faith Bible College.
She chose to follow the path of Love every single day and she was a beloved companion, confidant and counselor to both friends and strangers alike. She never met a person she didn't like and her glow left a lasting impression on all who she encountered. Proverbs 3: 5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to God, and the Lord will make your paths straight."
