Raymond Eugene Baston born April 5, 1951, in Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away on April 15,
2020 in Houston, Texas.
Raymond is survived by his son Christopher; grandchildren Celina and Samuel Baston of
Tampa, Florida. Daughter Cecelia and Lauren; grandchildren Madison and Kennedy Fisher of
Boston, Massachusetts. Son Raymond and Stephanie; grandchildren Emileigh, Trinity,
Vanessa and Benjamin Baston, of Portland, Maine. Sister Dawn and Gordon Anderson of New
Limerick, Maine. Along with nephews Dean, Elbridge, and Frederick Merritt. He was
predeceased by his parents Raymond Alton and Norma Jeanne, and brother Dean Alan Baston
of New Limerick, Maine.
Raymond was fondly called "Reb" or "Rebbie" by his family and friends. Reb grew up on
various military bases before his family settled in New Limerick, Maine. After high school, Reb
followed in his father's footsteps and joined the Air Force. In the late seventies, Reb and then
wife Stephanie, settled in the Portland, Maine area, where he resided for most of his life. At the
time of his death he was staying in Beaumont, Texas, with his friend Rick, whom he considered
to be a brother.
Reb was passionate about life. He would greet anyone and everyone with a smile. Reb was
playful and intelligent. He enjoyed a cup of hot coffee and good conversation. Reb was a
talented photographer, he enjoyed drawing, and liked to ski. He loved planes and cars, and
enjoyed doing mechanical work, especially on his shovelhead. Reb was a voracious reader, he
enjoyed watching sports and catching a beautiful sunrise. He was an outgoing man, quick with
a joke or something witty. His happiest moments were spent surrounded by friends and family.
There will be no services held. Reb was a wonderful loving soul, please honor him through
celebration with your family and friends. He would want us all to remember him with only
happiness.
