Rebecca Scott , affectionately known by many names including Bec and Becky, departed this life on June 29, 2020. She was born on May 3 rd , 1960 to Dr. William C. Scott and Virginia Scott in Cleveland, OH.

Rebecca was the younger of two daughters and attended Cleveland Public Schools. In 1970, Mrs. Scott moved her mother and daughters to Shaker Heights, OH. In 1978, Rebecca graduated from Shaker Heights High School, receiving great support from the family of Terrikay Tucker during her senior year.

Rebecca pursued her lifelong love of dance at Ohio University but later, to assist her family, embarked on a professional career in banking. She worked for many banks in both Cleveland, OH and Chicago, IL including Shore Bank, National City and Bank One/ Chase. Rebecca valued her education and later graduated from Colorado Technical University Online.

Rebecca was delighted and faithful in her sacred calling of being a loving mother. Her son, Jordan S. Scott, was born to her in 1986. In 2007, she welcomed daughter-in-law, Shayla to the family. To the union, her grandson, Phoenix, was born. He added so much happiness to Rebecca's life, and she was thrilled to watch Phoenix grow.

Rebecca had a love of life that was evident in all she did. She gathered people together through her magnetic personality by inspiring and encouraging everyone's gifts. Many friends speak of her infectious laugh and giggles that brightened the darkest of days.

When faced with challenges and obstacles, Rebecca lived by faith and repositioned her life. As health challenges mounted, her spiritual commitment was unwavering. Rebecca will be deeply missed by her family and the people whose lives she touched with her generous and loving heart.

Rebecca was preceded in death by both her father, Dr. William C. Scott and mother, Virginia Scott and brother-in-law, Wilbert L. Cooper Sr.

To cherish her memory and live out her legacy, Rebecca leaves her son Jordan [Shayla], grandson Phoenix; Sister Cynthia S. Cooper, niece Danielle Cooper and her family, nephews Justin and Trenton Cooper; Aunts Mrs. Mamie Sims, Mrs. Cora Bass, Mrs. Anna Harrell and a host of cousins and other family, both biological and extended, and dedicated friends.
