Richard John Dekker, 85, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2020, in Conroe Texas. He was born in Evergreen Park IL on Oct 16, 1934 to Mary Hennessy Dekker and Anthony John Dekker. He attended St. Rita High School and graduated from Fenger High School in Chicago. Following a move with his parents to Oakland CA, he served in the Army and then worked for the Post Office, transferring to Texas where he then worked for and retired from the Chicago Bridge and Iron Company as an accounting clerk. In his twenties, he qualified for the professional bowling tour, but an injured arm kept him from pursuing that adventure. Golf kept Richard and his late wife, M.A., active for many years.
Richard was pre-deceased by his parents and by his wife, M.A. (Mary Alice) Page Dekker, but leaves behind a wealth of relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
