Richard "Dick" Wayne Humalainen, 85, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2020, surrounded by loved ones at his home in Montgomery, TX. He was born on May 19, 1935, in Conneaut, OH to Wayne and Zaida Humalainen. Dick is preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Zaida and brother Phillip Michael.  He is survived by his wife of 49 years Rebecca L. Humalainen and his two children:   daughter, Heather Humalainen Randall and her husband, J. Ross Randall and son, Richard Ethan Doughty and his wife Jennifer Doughty of Baton Rouge, LA, and his five grandchildren:  Bryce J. Doughty, Braden J. Doughty, Cade J. Doughty, Wesleigh J. Doughty and Gracie J. Doughty.  Other surviving relatives are his brother - W. Michael Humalainen, his wife Kathy R. Humalainen and his niece – Karri M. Humalainen-Pacileo, her husband Joe Pacileo, and their children Lauren, Emily and Megan Pacileo.  Additional surviving family members are Sister in Law – Bernice Hick and spouse - Michael Hick, niece – Becky Stokes and spouse – Brian Stokes and their children, Kirsten Stokes and Amber Stokes Zalomski and Spouse Zach Zalomski.  Niece - Carolyn Nihon and her daughter Montanna Chester, niece – Melanie D. Landers, nephew – Robert W. David McElwain and spouse – Tanya McElwain and their children – Isabella, Audrey and Garrison McElwain.

Dick was born and raised in Ohio, joined the US Air Force after graduation and moved to Texas where he graduated from the University of Houston with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in the mid 1950's.  When Dick finally retired from the work force, he had only worked for 3 companies spanning his 55+ year career.

Dick was a devoted husband and loving father.  He loved nothing more than to spend time with his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and volunteering at his church.  Dick was always excited when he had the opportunity to go hunting with his son or watch his grandchildren in their various activities.  He especially loved the holiday season, when the house was decorated and family and friends were around.   He could often be found with a camera in hand and loved capturing special memories.

A memorial service will be held in the Spring of 2021.
