1987 - 2020

Richard Gene Woods of Sugar Land, Texas passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020 at the age of 33. Richard was born on January 31, 1987 in Panama Republic of Panama and became a Texan 6 years later.

Richard was the beloved son of Walter Woods of Lake Livingston, Texas and Elena Woods of Sugar Land, Texas and grandson of Marcial and Eladia Candanedo of Panama. He is survived by his wife Kori Woods, daughter Rebecka Woods and son Travis Woods of Sugar Land, Texas, sisters Christine Roy and Cristal Guerra. Preceded in death by his son Wyatt G. Woods, grandparents Myrel Dean and Edith Ruth Woods of Kansas.

Richard served in the U.S. military from January 2011 to May 2017, completing one tour in Korea from 2014 to 2015. Richard was stationed in Fort Irwin, California as a Tanker in the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Delta Company. After serving 8 years of service Richard went on to become a turbine technician allowing him to travel across country. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family and kids. His hobbies included fishing, grilling and riding his motorcycle.
