Rita Elizabeth Murphy, 65, passed away peacefully on March 15,2021 in Houston, Texas. Rita was born on June 2, 1955, in Lufkin, Texas to Alex and Juanita Zamudio. Rita is preceded in death by her parents, older brother, and many other family members. She leaves behind her Husband Timothy S. Murphy (34 years of marriage); daughter Jennifer Murphy; daughter Kelly Trevino, husband Eddie Trevino; son Ryan Murphy; son Alex Murphy, wife Tabithia Murphy; Nine grandchildren, Andrew Trevino, Valarie Salazar, Ryan Murphy II, Matthew Trevino, Kimberley Salazar, Cassandra Murphy, Melanie Murphy, Maddox Trevino, and Timothy Murphy II; Sisters Patricia Navarro and Susie Zamudio; and many nieces and nephews.

Rita spent most of her time enjoying every moment with her family especially her grandchildren. She loved to just sit and watch them play and always had a smile when they were around.

A funeral service will be held at Graceful Memorial Chapel, 3160 Brownie Campbell Rd. Houston, Texas 77038 on Tuesday, March 23, 2021.  Times are private.
