Robert Samuel Lancaster Sr., 85, of Montgomery, TX passed away Friday August 14, 2020 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 1, 1935 in Mexia, TX to parents Buford and Bertha Lancaster. He had two siblings, John Lancaster and Jona Fay Cooper. In 1957 he married Evelyn Christine Young in Galena Park, TX. He was a dedicated employee of Charter Oil for 43 years. After retirement, he moved to his farm in Mexia, TX where he loved driving his grandkids around on his tractor and petting his cows. His next favorite thing to do was go to Vegas or Coushatta where he loved to gamble. When he bought a lottery ticket, he always believed it was a winner. He later moved to Montgomery to be close to family.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn of 63 years, son Robert Samuel Lancaster, Jr. and wife Robyn of Montgomery, TX, as well as son Michael Lancaster and wife Joann of Montgomery, TX. Grandchildren Alexa Ybanez, Amber Pasler, Leesa Satcher, Elliott Lancaster and Madison Lancaster. Great grandchildren James, Emma, Bryson, Zoey, Gabby, and Savannah and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, sister and granddaughter. He will be inturred in Cotton Gin Cemetery close to his family at a later date.
His family wishes to express special thanks to Heart to Heart for hospice care. His nurses and caregivers became loved members of our family and made his life so much better this past year.
