Robert John Moliski, 97, World War II veteran and dedicated family man passed away peacefully on May 11, 2023 in Houston, Texas.

Bob was born on July 30, 1925, in Syracuse, New York. A child of the depression, he was no stranger to work from an early age. He helped out in his parents' grocery store and, as a teenager, worked after school maintaining steam engines at a local rail yard. He graduated high school in 1943 from Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse and immediately entered the military. As a member of the United States Naval Construction Battalion, better known as the Navy Seabees, he deployed to Port Lyautey in Morocco, where he served honorably for the remainder of the war. In 1946 he returned home and enrolled in Syracuse University. After graduating, he settled in Washington D.C. to work for the federal government. He met and married Mary Elinor Watson while both were employed at the Voice of America. An avid scholar, Bob studied law part-time at George Washington and Georgetown Universities and was
eventually admitted to the Washington D.C. bar. In 1977, he retired from the United States Tax Court and moved with his family to Florida. Later he moved and resided in Houston, Texas since 1987.  A man of simple tastes, he found his greatest fulfillment in providing for his family. Whether it was helping to shop for a new car, buying furniture at his favorite auction, helping to move residences, or painting a spare bedroom, nothing made him happier than giving of himself to his loved ones.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary ("Margo"), parents Anna and John, and sister Joan. He is survived by his seven children, seventeen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. His pleasant demeanor, quick smile, and warm heart will be missed by those who loved him.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 25 at 11:00am at the St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 7810 Cypresswood Dr. Spring, Texas 77379.  A burial with US Navy honors will follow at the Houston National Cemetery with a gate time strictly at 1:45pm in Lane 2, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. Houston, Texas 77038.
