Obituary

Robert (né Augustin Jean Marie Robert) Sansaricq passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at his son's home in Katy, TX.  Robert was born in Haiti on August 23, 1933 to Louis and Marie Odette (née deCatalogne) Sansaricq.
He spent his childhood in Haiti - once considered the Pearl of the Antilles.  For his college education, he came to the United States and attended Bryant University (formerly Bryant College) where he received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.  After receiving his degree he returned to Haiti to work with his Father in the family coffee export business.  He married the love of his life Micheline (née Courtois) and they had 2 sons, Philippe and Patrick.
In 1963, Robert and his family fled political persecution.  Many of his family members were killed in Haiti in 1964 under the brutal regime of Francois "Papa Doc" Duvalier.  He settled his family in New York, where his third child, Dominique, was born.  In 1977, he moved his family to Houston, Texas.  In 2001, he moved with his wife to Florida to be closer to his 3 siblings.
Robert spent his entire career working for Chase Manhattan Bank (now JP Morgan Chase).
He was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer in 2018 and underwent chemotherapy for 2 years.  He loved children, especially his two beloved grandchildren, Stephanie and James "Jimmy".  He loved soccer, fishing, hunting and being in the company of friends and family.  He was known amongst friends and family for his desserts and love of all things sweet.
He is survived by his wife, Micheline; his three children Philippe, Patrick and Dominique and their spouses Naomi, Lisa and James; his two grandchildren Stephanie and Jimmy, his sister
Michele; two brothers Gerard and Bernard and their wives Colette and Alejandra; countless nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and 3 great grand nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Marie Odette Sansaricq.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either Friends of PDI or St. Jude.  Friends of PDI is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support education, jobs and modernization of existing resources of the people of Abricots, Haiti in which Robert was a board member.  St. Jude is a pediatric treatment and research hospital focused on children's catastrophic diseases, particularly leukemia and other cancers.  He loved children, he died of cancer and St. Jude was one of his favorite charities.
