Ronald L. Slawson, Gainesville, Fla, formally of Hinsdale, NY, passed away on May 21, 2021 in Houston, Tx.

Born February 11, 1932 in Olean, NY. He graduated in 1951 from Hinsdale Central School. He served 4 years in the US Navy during the Korean War and attended Syracuse University after the Korean War.

He was a TV director at Penn State, State College, Pa, The Dept of the Army, Ft Lee, Va and Audio-Visual Specialist for the Virginia Dept of Community College in Richmond, Va.

He moved to Gainesville, Fla in 1970 and retired as a Multi-Media Instructor at Santa Fe Community College in 1993.

Surviving are Susan Slawson, of Bainbridge Georgia, two sons, Rodney B. Slawson of Katy, Tx and Kirk D. Slawson of Houston, Tx, a grandson Tyler (Skye) Slawson of Nashville, Tn, a sister Janyce Webster (Class of 1955) of Olean, NY, and several nieces and nephews.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Sarah Slawson, his wife, Bernice Schrecengost, his brother, Robert Slawson, his sister Sandra Slawson and his daughter-in-law Sonja Slawson.

A memorial service will be held at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 4100 NW 39th Avenue, Gainesville, Florida on July 15, 2021 at 1:00PM
