Obituary

Ronald Allan Yearout, fondly known as "Uncle Ron" passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on April 15, 2024 at the ripe ol' age of 73.

Born May 7, 1950, in Kansas City, MO to Lloyd and Clara Yearout. Ron graduated from Ware County High School in Waycross, GA 1969 after which he attended Texas A&M, Rice University, and AGC Superintendent School. Subsequently, Ron taught math, general construction and carpentry at Houston Community College Gulf Coast Trade Center until his departure from education, likely due to his desire to boss others around. Ron then pursued his long career in commercial construction and would go on to proudly point out each building, hotel, restaurant, parking garage, college and car wash he had a hand in building.

Ron traveled extensively—mainly for work, taking residence in the finest RV parks across the country, allowing for many fond family vacations and new neighbors/friends to feed.

Known for his insistent need to feed quite literally everyone he met, Ron leaves behind memories of delicious, flavorful meals and watery mouths across the states. Not one to measure out and track meal ingredients because "it's all up here" he'd say pointing to his head, all of his best recipes were left in photos and he took his famous BBQ sauce and rib rub recipes to his grave.

Ron was an avid rock tumbler, a collector of things to keep in the garage, an artist, a carpenter, a spectacular chef, animal lover (which he also fed home cooked meals), a scholar and had love for teaching in which his wisdom was that of "if it wasn't done my way, it not done right."

Ron was headstrong, stubborn and smart as a whip, he had a giving spirit that can never be replaced; he will be missed immensely and as a parting goodbye, Ron made sure to leave copies of his Green Enchilada's and Frijoles Gringos recipes to share if only to ensure no one ever forgets his cooking.

Ron is predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Clara Yearout, brother Gary Yearout, and his youngest daughter Jessica Yearout. Ron leaves behind his nagging wife Linda Yearout, spoiled oldest daughter Sara Robertson, favorite granddaughter Cheyanne Robertson, and wish-he-was- my-son, son-in-law Brad Robertson; his loving sister Cynthia Leftwich, brother-in-law Jim Leftwich and many favorite nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Friends for Life animal shelter, Houston Food Bank, or a charity of your choice.

A memorial service to honor the life of Ron will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 11am to 3pm, located at The Hope Lodge, 12715 Telge Rd. Cypress, Texas 77429.  Food will be served from 11:30am until 1pm, time to share memories will follow.
