Ruby Louise Keaton age 97 peacefully passed away on August 24, 2020 surrounded by her loved ones at her home in Richmond, Texas.
Ruby was born on February 13, 1923 in Winston Salem, N.C. to the late James Franklin and Rhomas Sherrill Johnson. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband Chestee A. Keaton and her son James A. Keaton.
Ruby leaves behind her eldest son Joseph H. Keaton (partner Tanya
Mobley) and daughter Christine M. Davis (son-in-law Dr. Nathaniel Davis), 6 grandchildren Victoria Keaton, Lisa Keaton, Natalie Bush, Talia Boykin (Travis Boykin), Nathan Davis (Martha Davis), James Keaton; 14 great-grandchildren Arnisha Keaton, Tajanay Chessom, Janay Macklin, Nathan Gee, Navaeh Allen, Cora Hyde, Treyvion Boykin, Jayden Boykin, Jayla Keaton, Charlie Keaton, Ava Keaton, Maxwell Davis, Tyler Boykin and Miles Davis; 1 great-great grandchild Jayden Cameron; honorary daughter-in-law Sharon Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
Ruby enjoyed spending time with family and many friends. She loved to receive many hugs and kisses. She would often make phone calls and send cards so that she never missed a special occasion in her loved one's life. For many years she was very active in the community and was the Ambassador at her former place of residence "American House" located in Southfield MI. Ruby lived a long wonderful life and will be greatly missed.
Ruby was a Christian woman, in her later years she learned from the Holy Bible that God's Name is Jehovah. Additionally she learned that the time will come when the whole earth will be peaceful and perfect.
