Celebrating the Life of Ruby Jean Stearns

Ruby Jean Stearns was born on February 18, 1951 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Ruben and Virgie Stearns. The family later relocated to Flint, MI. Ruby attended the Flint Public Schools and graduated from Flint Central High. She worked as a Supervisor for the Michigan State Treasury Department and retired after 30 years of service. Ruby become a member of St. Paul Baptist Church at a young age and later joined Greater Galilee Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school and vacation bible school teacher, sang in the choir and served as the church secretary. She later joined the Grace Cathedral Community church and served as the Choir Director. Ruby enjoyed reading, baking and playing cards. She later relocated to Houston, TX  in 2013.

Ruby leaves to cherish her beloved son Raineil Stearns; (8) grandchildren Dominique Singleton; Raineil Stearns (daughter);Raiosha Stearns; Raichio Stearns; Jordyn Stearns; Raineil Stearns (son); Raianna Stearns; Nyzier Ivy. Great grandchildren (2) Dominique Singleton; Emma Caress Harper; adopted daughter Shena Williams; (1)sister Faye (Jimmy) Tyler; (1) brother Alfred J. Stearns; (2) nephews Dion Weston and Duane Weston, and one special nephew Neil Talley; (1) niece Jacinda Talley; special friends Janie Shack; Pat Tyson; Joan Pointer; Ms. Virginia; Latoya Carroll and Cynthia George (God daughter)

Ruby was proceeded in death by her parents Ruben and Virgie Stearns; sister Sandra K. Stearns; grand parents; Rev O.Y. and Evangelist Robirda McCarty; (2) aunts Ola Mae (Tommie) Bonner Sr. and Oma Lee (Calvin) Evans.
