Tim, as he was known to his friends, was born on November 23, 1950, in Lovington, New Mexico, the son of James Earl Daniel and Louise Daniel.
After he was born, the Daniel family moved to Graham, Texas where Tim spent his adolescence. Before high school the family moved to Wichita Falls, TX. Tim graduated from S. H. Rider High School in 1969 and was active in track and field, choir, drama, and band where he played the trumpet. He had fond memories of working at his family's restaurant, The Dairy Palace. It's there his love of milkshakes began.
He graduated from Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, Texas, with a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering, in 1974. After graduation, he was commissioned into the United States Navy at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida. He graduated from naval air training and treasured his service as a Navy pilot flying F-14 Tomcats. Most notably, he flew Top Gun, among the Navy's most elite pilots. His call sign was Dallas, and he proudly displayed the Dallas Cowboys' Star on his helmet. While in Pensacola, Tim attended the Regimental Ball where he met Robin Bailey, the daughter of a Master Chief Petty Officer. He married Robin on April 7, 1979, at the chapel on the Naval Air Station before heading out west where he was stationed at Miramar Naval Air Station in San Diego, California. Tim completed his naval service as a Lieutenant Commander in 1988.
While in California, Tim obtained his Masters of Business Administration from National University. Tim and Robin also welcomed their first child, James, before moving to Ft. Worth, TX. While in Texas, Tim and Robin added three daughters, Sarah, Anna, and Rebekah.
After his active service in the Navy, he worked at as an engineer focusing on supply chain efficiencies. He was a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and optimized all aspects of his work and personal life. His work life took him and his family all over the United States, and Tim and Robin ultimately settled in Missouri City, Texas.
Tim loved to spend time outdoors, most often in his backyard tending to his vegetable garden or various fruit trees. He loved to barbeque and would find any excuse to fire up the grill or smoker and invite all his loved-ones over for a meal. Willie Nelson was always playing as the music of choice.
Tim was a man of faith. He served in various roles in the church, including Sunday school teacher, deacon, music minister, and pastor. He loved to read his bible and hoped all he met would give their lives to Jesus and know his saving grace.
