Uneeda was born in Houston, Texas to the union of Melvin James Jones and Rosa Lee Jones. She gave her life to Christ at 8 years old and was baptized at Creston Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Leroy Ross. Uneeda was educated in the North Forest I.S.D where she graduated from Smiley HIgh School in 1987 in the top five percent of her class. She was influenced to be a teacher by the passion of her English teachers.

She was a wonderful teacher and person. Uneeda left Smiley  the Green and Gold for the Prarie View A&M Purple and Gold. If you knew Uneeda you knew she loved the Purple and Gold. She also graduated with her Master's degree from the University of Houston. She majored in Education with an emphasis in English and Spanish. At Prarie View A&M University, she met her husband, Lloyd Lamb and they were married for 31 plus years having a daughter named Ashlan Lamb and a step son named Lloyd Ross. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
