IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vivian Babette
Sundermeyer
April 17, 1931 – February 18, 2021
Vivian Sundermeyer, 89, passed away on February 18, 2021 in Houston, TX. She was born April 17, 1931 in Kansas City, Missouri to Gladys Morris. Vivian is preceded in death by her mother Gladys Capps. She leaves behind 2 daughters, Bett Sundermeyer; Tonya Roppolo and husband Andrew; 2 grandchildren, Dallan Nash and Paul Roppolo, and brother Doyle Stephens.
When her children were young, Vivian was a busy stay at home mom. She was a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout leader. She also made many beautiful quilts and made a lot of her children's clothes. She also had a large garden and canned fruits and vegetables.
After moving to Houston, Vivian ran a childcare business for many years. She later owned a grooming and boarding business. She also bred Rottweilers, Yorkshire Terriers, Miniature Pinschers and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
After retiring, she was the local "cat lady" who rescued, spay/neutered, rehomed, fed and cared for many, many lost or abandoned cats and dogs in the neighborhood. She helped neighbors care for their pets as well. She planted milkweed to draw Monarch butterflies to her yard and she loved watching the Monarch caterpillars that would appear every year.
In 2019, Vivian was happy to learn that she had a ½ brother living in Houston that she hadn't known about. She met him, and his family, for the first time that year.
