Walter Lee Dickens, Born in Montcoal, WV, May 1, 1945, passed away on September 6, 2021 from natural causes in Houston, Texas. Loving brother, dad, grandpa and friend, his unconditional love will live on in those he left behind. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Arthur and Phirba Dickens (Blaylock). He is survived by his children Arnold (George) Workman, Paula Dickens, Shirlee Dickens Kay, and son-in-law, Ronnie Kay. Granddaughters Caitlyn Workman Calles and Misty Hoffman. Great grandchildren Gionni and Oliver Calles, Sage, Isabella, and Dakota Hoffman. Siblings: Della McCormick, Gale McMahon, Barb Ford, Debbie Atkinson, and William Roberts, JR. As well as several nieces and nephews. His Aunt and uncle Violet and Tom Bolyard, and several cousins. He served his country from 1967-1969, in the Army as a transportation specialist, stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. An expert sharpshooter, hunter, and fisherman. He loved listening to music, watching documentaries about WWII and Westerns. He enjoyed teaching his great grandson, Gionni, how to swim and time with his family. He spent most of his life in and around Cleveland, Ohio, moving to Houston in 2001 to be closer to his children. Anyone who knew him, loved, and adored him. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a charitable contribution to the Wounded Warriors Project. The family would also like to thank Michelle and Tim Xenakis and family for their love and support.
