William (Bill) Howard McCracken, 83, of Houston, Texas went to be with the Lord on December 21, 2023. Bill was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on July 18, 1940, to Harold Edmund McCracken and Eunice Daisy (Jones) McCracken.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, father, Harold Edmund McCracken and mother, Eunice Daisy (Jones) McCracken.

Bill is survived by his son, Michael McCracken and his wife Charity McCracken of New Caney, Texas. His daughter, Maureen Haskell and her husband Scot Haskell of Austin, Texas. His grandchildren, Sarah McCracken and her fiancé Cody Holmes of Abilene, Texas, Shane McCracken and his girlfriend Rylyn Henson of New Caney, Texas, Emily Wallace of New Caney, Texas, Faye Haskell of Austin, Texas, and William Haskell of Austin, Texas. His brother Harold Edmund McCracken Jr. of Austin, Texas.

Bill graduated from McCallum High School. He also attended the University of Texas. Afterwards, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served for 3 years. After his honorable discharge, he went on to work as a lab technician at Exxon for many years. Once he left Exxon, Bill went on to work as a security guard.

He was a God fearing Christian who loved the Lord. He made it his life's mission to spread the word of God and to ensure each person knew how loved they were. Bill volunteered at prisons in an effort to show no matter what someone is going through the Lord is always there. He enjoyed writing and went on to publish a book titled Spiritual Warfare Through Christian Unity: A Starter Kit by Jesus to Grow With. Along with his love for the Lord and being an author, he was a huge sports fan. His favorite teams were the University of Texas Longhorns, the Houston Astros, the Houston Rockets, and the Houston Texans. Finally, he was a very proud father and grandfather. He loved his children and grandchildren very much and enjoyed being there and supporting them in whatever ways he could.

A graveside service will be held to honor the life of William on Friday, January 5, 2024 with gate-time strictly at 10:45 am at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas 77038.
