Obituary

Sharon Hendry (Laurie), loving wife to David, Mother of Anastasia and Noah, Daughter
of Graeme and Margaret, Stepmother to Ross and Iaian, and Sister to Janice, sadly
passed away from this life in Texas on June 9th 2024.

Sharon was born in Kirkintilloch, Scotland, and moved briefly to Egypt, where she was
part of a band singing in the Sheraton Cairo Hotel, before settling in London, where she
was a stay-at-home mother, raising Anastasia and Noah, and marrying Johnny, her first
husband.

Sharon attended Kirkintilloch High School, where she was a popular pupil and made
many, many friends who she kept in touch with over the years on social media.

Sharon was an avid fitness fanatic and could be regularly seen in the gym or pounding
the streets of London. She loved to party and dance, and she would often create
playlists of her favourite music and songs and send them to her sister, Janice.

Sharon even cut her own record single in 1989 with her friend Karen, calling themselves
'The Slim Cooks'. When Clyde Radio heard the single, she was described as having the
voice of an Angel. She'll no doubt be singing in the heavenly choir now. Let's hope she
doesn't lead them astray.

Sharon was a fun-loving, caring person who always put others before herself. She was
proud of her family and friends, and when in London, she loved her fitness weekends
away with Janice, Cilla, and Jane. It is certain that if there were a reunion, there would
be plenty of stories to be told and laughs to be had.

Sharon always loved to travel; she didn't let being a mother stop her from going away; in
fact, she ensured that many happy memories were made with the family each year in the
sun, by the pool, or on the beach in many different countries; however, her favourite
destinations were always Cyprus and Greece.

Sharon was a caring, selfless, and beyond-special mother who spent her whole life
doing everything she could for Anastasia and Noah. She was the heart and soul of the
family for many years and shaped her children into who they are today.

Sharon kept in touch with David Hendry, originally from Cumbernauld, Scotland, and
their frequent communication blossomed into love. Sharon finally took the decision to
uproot and start a new chapter of her life in Texas, where their love for each other
resulted in their marriage.

Amber and Abby, her two Dachshunds, her fur-babies, were the love of Sharon's life and
came a very close second to her family. The dogs will stay in Texas and live out their
remaining years in their new forever home, which will be chosen in good faith to Sharon.

Sharon will be cremated in Texas, with her ashes being brought back to the UK by her
nephew David and finally laid to rest with her Gran. Sharon's Gran, Margaret, whom she adored, played a major part in her life before she left Scotland. Sharon's ashes will be
laid on the Campsie Hills overlooking Kirkintilloch in Glasgow.

Unfortunately, David, her husband, is currently receiving palliative care in Texas after
falling ill a few weeks ago, and no doubt he is just hanging on to allow Sharon time to get
heaven all sorted out, ready for David to put his feet up and for them to be reunited
again.

The family asks you to spare a thought or say a prayer for Sharon and David.
